Here are six digital pictures that I took outside of my apartment on Sunday, December 17, 2000.

I was fortunate enough to move all of my vehicles out of the garage (my motorcycle and my Trans-Am) and drive away my truck before the water came up. I'm very thankful for my weather alert radio which told me flash floods were coming. I did have a moment of panic when I wondered if my car would start, since it's been cranking over slowly. (yes, I bought a new battery shortly after that)

Luckily, my apt is on the second floor, but the garage still gets screwed every time there's a flood.

These pictures were taken after the waters had receded some. If you look at the wall in flood_2.jpg, you can see where the water line was up to. Inside of my garage, (on the other side of that door) the water was about 2.5 to 3 feet deep.

But, this flood was over two feet lower than the one in 1999 from Hurricane Floyd. That was a nasty flood which completely submersed my Katana 750 which was in the garage at the time. Thank goodness for insurance.

My parking lot did manage to make the video footage of both Fox and NBC in Philly (That's the camera car in flood_5), but I doubt they knew that my landlord's thunderbird was abandoned, and soaked during the last flood too....
